I am learning french. My 2 cents worth is that Phoebe's french shows the diplomatic and tactful way the french speak. Si vous pouviez jouer le jou avec lui I believe translates to: If you could play the game with him, after relating Joey is a little retarded. Her language or choice of words is appropriate for the situation she is in. Make no mistake about it, the learning curve of french is formidable, but give anyone credit for trying to learn a new language. !

Phoebe is definitely the smartest one. Her French is perfect without that attitude most of Brits/ American try to add when they learn a new language. Out of it, this part is absurd comic genius. Lisa Kudrow and Matt LeBlanc are just perfect.
